Yesterday April 20, 2011 crashed into the Naval Base Commander Spore (Bahia Blanca) the Grumman S-2E / T Turbo Tracker 0702/2-AS-22 . see link: ROLL OUT
Luckily there were no victims to mourn and the drivers are fine. Apparently the damage is severe, although only material. joined six Naval Aviation Grumman S-2E in 1978, were identified 0700/2-AS-21, 0701/2-AS-22, 0702/2-AS-23, 0703/2-AS-24, 0704/2-AS-25 and 0705/2-AS-26.
In an unfortunate fact, the first accident was the 2-AS-26 which completely destroyed the November 26, 1990 with the loss of three lives.
Of the five remaining machines, the Tracker 2-AS-21, 2-AS-22, 2-AS-23 and 2-AS-24 were converted to turboprops (Alternative S-2E / T), while the 2-AS-25 is in conversion to an indefinite term.
If confirmed 0702/2-AS-22 loss, would be only four Turbo Tracker aircraft in existence, if you complete the long-standing 0704.
